Welcome to the Folkthing, a small but perfectly formed music festival in the heart of England. The village of Ashby Folville is a beautiful unspoilt hamlet in Leicestershire, not far from Melton Mowbray. The location of the village can be found in the "Contact Us" page.
We have a limit of 300 people, so consider it a small, friendly, non-corporate, music festival in a pub and Village Hall (Saturday evening only for the Village Hall, music all day Saturday in the pub, and on Friday night), with an emphasis on local bands and musicians. There are two stages, a pub for sessions, and ample room for Morris sides (which are welcome, contact us if you are part of one and wish to join us.) The ethos is DIY - if you want to join in, bring an instrument and start a session. The more the merrier!
The weekend event will (still) cost a recession beating £15 on the gate, available in advance. Parking and Camping inclusive.
The pub serves excellent food (Inc. breakfast) and real ale, and there are no open air stages, making this the ideal weatherproof start to your festival season.
There is a comunal open air barbeque area so if the weather's looking good, bring some food and fuel and cook up a barbie...

Dogs are welcome, subject to common sense regarding control and cleaning up. It is Lambing Season, so please keep dogs on leads where there is lvestock. Please note that although we have bags of space for camping, motor homes etc, there is no electric hook-up, nor a chemical disposal point.
There will be toilets on the campsite, but no showers. There will be no campsite shop this year, so please bear that in mind and bring all you think you might need. There are shops nearby, but none in the village.
